Wylie Shen is the founder of KOKONI Pet Salon and Unicorn Pet Grooming, bringing over a decade of experience to the grooming table. Her journey began in 2011 with animal rescue work, an experience that instilled in her a "compassion first" philosophy. A graduate of the Animal Behavior College and 4 Dog Grooming Academy, Wylie specializes in the art of Japanese-style grooming, focusing on precision, softness, and balance. Her dedication to the craft and her rescue roots earned her 3rd place at the 2023 Groom Expo West Rescue Round-Up.
In 2026, Wylie opened KOKONI in San Gabriel as a boutique sanctuary designed to provide a calm, high-end experience for pets. For Wylie, grooming is a quiet art form centered on building trust rather than just achieving a look. She treats every dog with the patience and empathy they deserve, ensuring they leave the salon feeling safe, confident, and beautifully cared for.
At KOKONI Pet Salon, we believe grooming is about building a long-term relationship with every pet we care for. Grooming is more than just a haircut—it's about trust, comfort, and creating a positive experience over time.
Our team members are true animal lovers. We work with patience and understanding, and we never force pets through the grooming process. To keep the experience calm and gentle, we limit active grooming table time to a maximum of three hours per pet (not including drop-off or waiting time). This helps prevent pets from becoming overly stressed or tired during grooming.
Every pet is different. Some need extra time to feel comfortable and build trust—just like every child is unique. On days when a pet may feel nervous or overwhelmed, we focus on what is best for them and may take a slower, more gentle approach. Perfection is never our priority—your pet's comfort, safety, and happiness always come first. 🐾
